Learning Menu

Home Learning:

Due to the corona virus, a number of our children may well be at home for periods of time, self-isolating or otherwise.

If this is the case, do not fear, we are putting together some activities to help you keep your brain ticking over! This bank of resources will grow over time, but we wanted to get some things up so that you can get started. Please note: We are not expecting  everything to be completed and this is not going to be marked by the teachers, on your return to school.

Like with our home learning, we’ve arranged these into a menu of choices, with a ‘Main menu’ which is made up of the some really important core skills we need for our English and Maths. We’d like you to focus on practising these skills and if you’re able to a bit of this every day, you’ll really notice the difference! In some year groups there links to Reading, Arithmetic and Reasoning skills in Year 6 and Year 2. In other year groups Home school packs have been developed by a subscription website that some teachers use, that we have added. This can be worked through at your own pace.

Then we’ve got our ‘Side orders’, and as time goes on, teachers will upload different opportunities for you to extend your learning.

Interaction with our teachers - we think that it’s really important to keep in touch, share your learning with us through photos and messages and so we are currently investigating different technological solutions to enable that between children and staff. In the meantime, do keep in touch by e-mailing the school office and we’ll share it with the teachers!

We are being asked by parents, how long children should be working for. Please note we are not expecting children to complete a full school day as we understand that this will not be practical due to different circumstances. Please try to balance the day between working and breaks for the children, and a chance for you to be creative in the afternoons.

A proposed timetable could be:

9 am to 9:25 am Joe Wicks PE You tube Wake and Shake Activities

Update: 24th March:  Up to the Easter holidays we feel that there are enough resources below to help children complete work at home. We are currently reviewing what is placed on the website and will look to update with weekly tasks from April 20th for each year group.

New resources: White Rose Maths resources is a scheme that we have used to developed Maths in our school, and something that all our children are familiar with. Please visit the link below to gain access to free videos and worksheets for each individual year. This is something that can be visited daily alongside TTRS and Numbots. Clink on the link below and then click on the appropriate year group. There are individual lessons for this week and video tutorials which will be updated weekly.

South Glos Education advisors: Integra have also developed their own website links (some of which we have listed below) Please click on the link below to take you to their main website page, which will give links to further Maths and English activities that can be completed.

Username: march20     Password: home

Message from Miss. Adams: There is a great range of phonics games on this website which are now free to access with the above username and password. We are working on ‘phase 5’ so these will be the best games for the children to play but you can also access phase 3 and 4 for revision.

‘Teach Your Monster To Read.’

Message from Miss.Adams: Teach your monster to read is a free online ‘reading adventure’. There is also an app which usually costs £4.99, but for a limited time is free. It would be great to take advantage of this and download this on phones/tablets for children to access.

Individual Classes:
