St Helen's Governing Body
The Governing Body has a general responsibility for the conduct of the school with a view to promoting high standards of educational achievement while promoting and maintaining its Christian Ethos. Within this general responsibility are specific tasks that will form the core of the Governing Body’s activities through the year.
In consultation with the Head Teacher the Governing Body will:
- set appropriate targets for pupil achievement
- ensure equality of opportunity for pupils and staff
- manage the school budget
- make sure the curriculum for the school is balanced and broadly based
- report assessment and examination results
- support a healthy and safe learning environment
- discuss aspects of staffing and staff management procedures
- discuss systems for supporting children with special needs
- discuss monitoring the resourcing and delivery of the school improvement plan
Governors should:
- provide a strategic view
- act as a critical friend
- ensure accountability
- provide an appropriate balance between support and challenge

Parent Teacher Association (PTA)
The PTA comprises of parents of current pupils at St Helen's who want to help run events and raise funds to make St Helen's an even better place for our children. The PTA are always looking for new parents to help, if you are interested please get in touch.
PTA fund raising acrivities during the last 12 months have included:
- Childrens disco
- Bingo night
- Summer Fete
- Alveston Flower Show
- Childrens Christmas Fair
Funds raised by the PTA have been used to purchase:
- Junior Trim Trail
- Outdoor stage area
